The Modern Built Environment Knowledge Transfer Network (MBE KTN) is one of four KTNs funded by the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) to drive the flow of knowledge within, in and out of specific communities. TSB is an executive non-departmental public body established by the Government in 2007 and sponsored by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.

The MBE KTN stimulates technology-enabled innovation in priority areas that offer the greatest scope for boosting UK growth and productivity in the construction sector. The MBE KTN investigates how innovation can support faster and more efficient development of products and services. More information

National Refurbishment Centre

This joint initiative between BRE and Energy Saving Trust is supporting the practical delivery of green refurbishment and retrofit, based on evidence from a nationwide demonstration network of refurbishment exemplars.

Evidence will allow the sector to identify such things as which products work best with which building-types; whether there are gaps in the market; and which skills most need improving. This evidence will help the sector to start addressing the barriers to refurbishment and formulate best practice and national codes.  More information
